Cultural Cloth is pleased to collaborate with Jabbar Khatri, an internationally acclaimed award-winning artist from western Gujarat to create this hand stitched quilt using the tie dye technique - Bandhani. The pattern is created by tying small knots to resist the dye. The cloth is then dyed with natural indigo. Bandhani is an ancient resist dye technique thought to pre-date loom controlled pattern weaving. 100% cotton with a very thin batting inside. The back side is handwoven organic cotton with a small indigo and natural check pattern. The quilt is stitched with rows of fine hand stitching about every 2" apart, and the finished edge is also hand stitched. This quilt is a work or art!
