Boucheroite Rug is a mix of flat weave and knotted pile made using recycled fabrics. While in Morocco we visited this group of weavers, their workshop and met some of their families. We were very impressed with their group. These woven rugs are a fairly recent new folk art form that arose out of a wool shortage in the 60's. Without wool, the weavers reached for whatever was at hand: clothing scraps, industrial mop parts and more. Colors range from pale turquoise, muted green, cream and yellow. Also bright pink, deep magenta, deep purple, deep violet blue, prussian blue, red and more. Recommended for a low traffic area of the home but also beautiful on the wall. Mixed fibers
