The Women of Silaiwali: their story in photos.

The name Silaiwali is comprised of 2 Hindi words: Silai- the act of stitching together two pieces of fabric and Wali- refers to a feminine person in a professional role. View the story of these recent Afghan women refugees making a new life for themselves and their families in Dehli, India.

Silaiwali’s Stuffed Animals:

Each animal is dressed in cotton garments created from fabric waste gathered at Dehli’s clothing factories. The animal’s faces are adorned with hand embroidered detailing. Each animal comes with a mattress, a pillow and a blanket; the animal is shipped within a cardboard box as ‘bed'. Free shipping within the continental US.
