Hand dyed silk scarf using two traditional techniques: Bandhani and Kantha. Bandhani (tie dye) is a traditional dye technique where very small dots of the cloth are tied with string to resist the dye. The fabric is a dark brass color on one side and black on the other. The scarf has a interesting puckered texture due to the dye process. This scarf then has a fine hand stitched edge around all edges of kantha stitches (running stitches). The combination of techniques makes for a beautiful and unusual scarf. A very nice weight for all seasons. 100% silk.
