Embroidered pillow from a UNESCO Award of Excellence studio in Uzbekistan, a country at the heart of the fabled silk road, an ancient trade route linking the far east, Europe and north Africa. Hand embroidered silk on a satin-finish silk taupe colored ground cloth. Embroidery colors: dusty rose, creamy wheat, deep red, forest green, blue grey, pale peach, muted peach, black and pale sky blue. The back is handwoven ikat dyed cotton in golden yellow and charcoal, with a zipper. 90/10 feather/down pillow insert. Stunning.
