Embroidered pillow from a UNESCO Award of Excellence studio in Uzbekistan, a country at the heart of the fabled silk road, an ancient trade route linking the far east, Europe and north Africa. Hand embroidered silk on a satin-finish silk wheat colored ground cloth. Embroidery colors: forest green, blue grey, deep indigo, grey, deep red, sage green, pale rose and more. The back is handwoven ikat dyed cotton in white, chalky green, rose and yellow with a zipper. 90/10 feather/down pillow insert. Stunning.
