Embroidered pillow from a UNESCO Award of Excellence studio in Uzbekistan, a country at the heart of the fabled silk road, an ancient trade route linking the far east, Europe and north Africa. Hand embroidered silk on a satin-finish silk pale creamy wheat colored ground cloth. Embroidery colors: turquoise, steel grey, blue grey, silver grey, brick, rust, pale mustard, cream white and black. The back is handwoven ikat dyed cotton in chalky red, pale forest green, gold and off white, with a zipper. 90/10 feather/down pillow insert. Stunning.
