Embroidered pillow from a UNESCO Award of Excellence studio in Uzbekistan, a country at the heart of the fabled silk road, an ancient trade route linking the far east, Europe and north Africa. Hand embroidered silk on a satin-finish silk pale turquoise colored ground cloth. Embroidery colors: deep red, sage, pale lavender, wheat, Prussian blue, forest green, olive green, black and white. The back is silk ikat dyed fabric in charcoal and chalky gold. A back zipper. and 90/10 feather/down pillow insert. Stunning.
