Hand Embroidered Silk Table Runner C (or wall hanging) Uzbekistan

Embroidered table runner or wall hanging from the studio of Sanjar Nazarov, a UNESCO Award of Excellence studio in Uzbekistan, a country at the heart of the fabled silk road, an ancient trade route linking the far east, Europe and north Africa. One-of-a-kind hand embroidered silk threads on a silk-satin ground cloth. The pattern references Lakai style embroidery, the once semi-nomadic people who traversed the ancient silk road. Embroidery colors: olive, pinkish cream, gold, mint green, pale aqua, cream and black that sit atop a silk ground color of chalky grape.
