Pillow repurposed from a vintage banjara bag. Banjara bags are used by the semi-nomadic Banjara people of the Kutch. The Hindi word “banjara” means barren, an apt description for the landscape where they live and tend their cattle. (Banjara people are linked linguistically and genetically to modern day Roma people.) As a bag, its’ large size would indicate its purpose: to hold tools and other important everyday objects. As a bag, now pillow, its’ large size would indicate its purpose: to hold tools and other important everyday objects. Colors: stitching in golden yellow, evergreen, off-white and navy are set against a rich reddish orange ground. Pillow back in a soft, rich red cotton suede textured cloth. Materials: Cotton. Hand rolled piping.  Hidden zipper and insert: 90/10 feather and down.
