Hand block printed quilt design from the studios of Sufiyan Khatri, Bhuj, Gujurat; created exclusively for Cultural Cloth. Sufiyan's family is credited with reviving natural dyes in the hand block printing industry in India. (Read More.) Sufiyan recently had an opportunity to study dyeing and print making in Japan and this block pattern shows the influence of the Japanese aesthetic upon his work. The quilt is natural dyed using alizarin (maroon), indigo (blues) and fermented iron (blacks). Sufiyan prints on a lovely quality cotton cloth that launders well and feels good against the skin. Colors: Variations of indigo blue; deep maroon; brown-black, cream. Reverse side in rich indigo. Handmade, variations to be expected. 100% cotton.
