Reproduction of a historic W Bengal Kantha depicting birds, animals and figures organized around a central mandala filled dancing women and pinwheels. We commissioned this from a fair trade group of artisans in eastern India. Hand stitched embroidery on white cotton ground cloth. The detail in the embroidery is stunning! Three layers of lightweight white cotton are stitched together with patterns of white stitches. Colors: dark sand, sage, evergreen, light tan, dusty rose, burgundy-brick red. Signed by the artist.
