Hand block printed and natural dyed quilt by Sufiyan Khatri’s studio. Sufiyan is a 10th generation block printer whose grandfather is credited with reviving natural dyes in the hand block printing industry in India. A few years ago Sufiyan had an opportunity to study with a natural dyer in Japan and while in Japan, Sufiyan’s ancient and inherited aesthetics intersected with Japanese design sensibilities. This quilt pattern is an example of Sufiyans work post-trip to Japan. 100% cotton with a lightweight cotton batting inside. The quilt is hand stitched to secure the batting and the finished edge is also hand stitched. Colors: shades of indigo, charcoal grey, charcoal brown and tan. The back is solid creamy white color.
