Hand woven Kharita map-style tapestry rug said to reference their landscape. One-of-a-kind flat woven Map style wool rug from a weaving cooperative in southern Morocco. Map rugs are characterized by a dizzying and complex pattern that some say is reminiscent of the landscape. These rugs are woven in the tapestry technique on an upright loom and are accomplished only by highly skilled weavers.

Weaving Association in Southern Morocco

For almost a decade, we have been sourcing a variety of rugs from our dear friends at the Weaving Association in Southern Morocco. Over the years, we have really enjoyed our relationship with this association, allowing us to work directly with them on various styles of rugs and seeing them come to life as the artisans (mostly women) weave through each piece.
