West Bengal Replica Vintage Nakshi Kantha Wall Hanging India (39" x 39")

Reproduction of a historic W Bengal Kantha depicting elephants and horses and riders parading around a central paisley and pinwheel filled mandala. We commissioned this from a fair trade group of artisans in eastern India. Hand stitched embroidery on white cotton ground cloth. The detail in the embroidery is stunning! Three layers of lightweight white cotton are stitched together with patterns of white stitches. Colors: Navy blue, golden yellow, brick red, orange. Each piece is hand done so allow for variations. Signed by the artist.
